My name is Tyler Whittington, and I was born and raised in Amite County, MS. My passion for the outdoors started at the age of 2 when my dad cut two leg holes in the bottom of a camouflage backpack and carried me through a cutover for my first deer hunt. I spent most of my childhood chasing deer and turkeys, wade fishing Hominy Creek, or shooting squirrels in the oak flat behind my grandfather’s house.
After high school, I moved off to the big city of Baton Rouge, LA where I earned a B.S. in Construction Management from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!) After graduating from LSU in 2018, I spent the next 4 years working as a project engineer for one of the largest commercial contractors in Louisiana building everything from dormitories to courthouses. In 2021, I decided to move back home to Mississippi, and I dipped my toes into the land management business which gave me plenty of hands-on experience and knowledge of what it takes to develop and maintain recreational properties for both hunting and new construction.
All of these experiences ultimately led me to my current position as a land agent with United Country – Southern States Realty.
